So you've played our Pirates and Pirate Island escape rooms, survived Calico Jack's motely crew and made off with his treasure? Now what? Let us introduce Dead Man's Chest, an all new escape experience for Escape This Perth CBD.


With Calico Jack's treasure chest in your possession, the time to break the lock and reveal your newfound riches is nigh. There is but one problem - a siren's curse as old as the seven seas holds the treasure inside hostage. To break the curse, you'll need to decipher the clues and puzzles hidden on and within the chest. Only when the true secrets of the chest and its curse have been revealed can you claim your riches.



But beware, the sands of time have turned on you and your crew... you have but 60 minutes before Davy Jones's locker threatens to retake the chest... and your crew! Dare you enter?

    At Escape This, all bookings are exclusive to your group. This has always been (and will remain to be) our policy before, during and after Covid.


    If you want to be locked in a room with a group of people you have never met before (some people do!) then we recommend you try another escape room experience provider.

  • 🎭 Can we come dressed up?

    You certainly can! If you have ever considered dressing up for your escape room experience we encourage you to do so. Come as Captain Blackbeard, Johnny Depp, Jack Sparrow or a lowly deckhand. Remember, bonus points if your group can speak like pirates from start to finish!

  • ⏳ How long will the Dead Man's Chest experience last?

    You'll have 60 minutes from commencement of the Dead Man's Chest experience to break the curse and claim your treasure. We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time and if you allow for 15 minutes afterwards, to catch your breath and debrief, your whole experience will last up to 60 minutes. You may be one of the lucky ones to escape earlier, in which case your time with us may be shorter.

  • ❓ How many people can play Dead Man's Chest at the same time?

    The maximum group size that The Dead Man's Chest escape room can accomodate is 8 people, across two simultaneous treasure chests playing head-to-head. Each chest can accommodate a maximum of 4 players.


    Our group limits are set to optimise gameplay and ensure a truly immersive experience for all our guests. It's our policy to never compromise on your gameplay experience so these limits are NOT flexible! 


    If your group is larger than 8 players we suggest that you book multiple rooms to start at the same time and split your group across the rooms. Thus ensuring the very best experience for everyone in your group.

  • 🗣️ What if I don’t speak English fluently?

    Spoken cues and clues are a key element of our escape rooms. Presently, these cues are only available in English, though we are working towards multi-language options. To ensure the best escape experience in the meantime, we recommend that the majority of your player group should be fluent in English.

  • 👍 Is Dead Man's Chest a good choice for my first escape room?

    Absolutely, Dead Man's Chest is a great choice for first time escapers up for a challenge!

  • 🦺 Are there any health & safety precautions we should know about?

    Like all escape rooms, Dead Man's Chest is a controlled lighting environment. It may feature periods of complete darkness and/or flashing lights. Similarly, you might experience confined spaces and/or jump scares during your escape. If you have any concerns or questions, please raise these with our Gamesmasters at check-in.
